Fernando joined the group as a research fellow hired in the “Characterization of the molecular interactions between Staphylococcus epidermidis biofilm infections and the host immune system” project. During his time in the group, he concluded his MSc in Health Biochemistry (2013), from the Health Technology Superior School of Porto, with a grade of 20 out of 20 values.

Fernando’s published a paper from her MSc work…

“Antibiotic resistance and biofilm formation ability among coagulase-negative staphylococci in healthy individuals from Portugal” provides a short local epidemiological characterization of the antimicrobial resistance profile of comensal coagulase negative staphylococci.
